CHP Deputy: Did former Turkish Minister take $32 million bribe from Zarrab?

CHP deputy Fikri Saglar asked to Prime Minister Yildirim: “did former finance minister Zafer Çağlayan take $32 million bribe from Reza Zarrab?”

Zarrab was arrested on 19 March 2016 in the United States and charged with 4 accounts, including money laundering, in an alleged racket scheme to help Iran bypass US sanctions against the country, involving ministers of the Turkish government of then prime minister and now president of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Main opposition party CHP’s deputy Saglar has prepared the question from a piece that was published on Der Spiegel magazin about Reza Zarrab. The piece was called “the operation  Midas” According to Der Spiegel magazine Çağlayan was the one who took the biggest amount of bribes with $32 million from Zarrab, and another former Minister rewarded with $6 million for his so called “services.”  Sağlar who brought these charges into the Parliament said “We are expecting from the government to respond these claims immediately.”

Here his parliamentary question directed to the Prime Minister Yildirim about this newly published case in Der Spiegel magazine:

“In this month’s edition of Der Spiegel Magazine, in Germany, the file “Riza Sarraf” under the heading “Midas operation” was included. Speaking of the preparation of the case in New York, the magazine included the sub-heading ‘gold smuggling, money laundering and the Turkish government’s case’

As an example of who should be concerned about the case, the Der Spiegel gives the name of former President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ahmadinejad, one of the former directors of a large Turkish bank, Süleyman Aslan and “perhaps” the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

In the news  many details have been transcribed with tables and schedules, the information put forward in the indictment has been given with details. Based on the  indictement Der Spiegel says that  bribes distributed in the Turkish bureaucracy are placed in saying that Zafer Caglayan received the biggest amount of bribes with 32 million euros and Muammer Guler paid 6 million dollars for his “services” by Zarrab.

The government has to inform the society immediately this harming accusations.

What do you think about Der Spiegel’s claims?

When you named Reza Zarrab as “ benovelent busines man” did you mean hım as bribe giver to your banks or  for his donation to your charity organization TURGEV ?

Why the name of Turkey is in the news about gold smuuggling and money laundering ?

Do you have any fear about  re-openning of the case in USA which covered up  in  Turkey at December 2013? “
