Words seem futile: Ten Besiktas Fans Held Banner saying ‘Let Nuriye and Semih live’ were arrested

Operations against to “Beleştepe Fan Group” of Beşiktaş continue over the ‘Let’s Let Nuriye and Semih Live’ written banner which was held during Beşiktaş-Konyaspor Super Cup Final soccer match. 10 of the fans holding this ban were arrested. One detained in Samsun and then released with ‘Judicial Control’. Trial will continue in Samsun.

According to evrensel.net news report, there was an arrest warrant for about 17 fans over that banner and 10 people detained during the operation conducted yesterday morning.

Beleştepe Fan Club made a statement and said that six more their friends detained in Ankara at 6.30 am. ‘Our friends were targeted just for they said tahat people should be alive. Defensing being alive is not a crime.’

Academician Nuriye Gülmen and teacher Semih Özakça have been on a hunger strike for 161 days, since they have been fired from their jobs with an presidential emergency decree.
