Fmr Pres Gul tells AKP to re-adapt foundation values and emerge them with universal values

Former President Gul Sent critical message to AKP: We should continue our way by re-guiding with values from the establishment of the party which were also democratic values.

Turkey’s ruling party AKP ( Justice and Development Party) has recently celebrated their 16th anniversary of foundation in Ankara. But former President Abdullah Gul who are also founding member of the party didn’t show up at the event despited that fact he was invited by President Erdogan directly over a phone call. Instead, Gul sent a message highlighting “universal democratic values”.  Some argued that he openly revealed his critical stand and may be he is  planning to initiate a new political action in coming months or years.

In his message, he emphasized that “AKP should re-guide themselves by taking values and politics from the foundation of the party and merge them with universal democratic values.”

Part of his message as stated below:

“Dear honorable Chairman of AKP and President Erdogan, I celebrate the 16th anniversary of the party which we built hoping to bring new lights and hopes. Our party, which has been the ruling party from the first election it participated until now,  has done so many enormous things and reforms for Turkey and increased Turkey’s international reputation over the years. We passed also 1 year from the traitor failed coup attempt that our nation repulsed  devotedly.  AKP should keep moving by re-adapting values and politics from the foundation of the party and merge them with universal democratic values. As I salute each of you believing that our party will serve many years and do many great things for our country and Turkish Nation.”
