“There are no security guarantees for anyone in Turkey,” Kılıçdaroğlu told the Germanweekly magazine Focus on Aug. 5, as he added that “foreign capital comes into a country only if there is rule of law, justice, security and property guarantees.”
Kılıçdaroğlu also criticized the arrests of journalists in Turkey.
“I consider it completely inappropriate to designate German journalists or other citizens who come to Turkey for professional reasons as spies,” he said.
Kılıçdaroğlu’s remarks caused an uproar in the Turkey’s pro-AKP media and among many pro-AKP talking heads who took twitter to lash out at Turkish opposition leader. Many talking heads accused Kılıçdaroğlu as being traitor for giving such remarks.
