10 months prison sentence to Caricaturist who wrote a letter to HDP Co-Chair Demirtas

10 months prison sentence was given to caricaturist Melih Gurler due to his expression in his letter to Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Co-President Selahattin Demirtas .

Melih Gurler who is being held in Samsun Bafra T-type Closed Prison , was sentenced to 10 months prison with claim that he insulted Minister of Justice Bekir Bozdag in his letter written to Selahattin Demirtas. Case which was handled by Keskin  Criminal Court of General Jurisdiction , court decided 10 months prison to Gurler due to his crime.

In the court decision, following statement was noted : “ Defendant Melih Gurler was sentenced to 1 year prison, and considering his future would be affected negatively , 10 months prison sentence was decided after 1/6 of sentence time was deducted”

In addition, 11 TL trial expense and bail of Bozdag ‘s lawyer 1980 TL will be charged from Gurler.

He was also sentenced for insulting President , too 

Presiouvly, Gurler was also judged and sentenced to 18 months prison for Insulting President with his statements in his letter sent to Bestepe Mahallesi Kulliye Sok No:1 Kacaksaray / Ankara.
