Turkish NBA Player Kanter, harsh Erdogan critic, is being held at Romanian airport

Turkish professional basketball player Enes Kanter for the Oklahoma City Thunder of the NBA is currently being held in Romania, according to a video he made and tweeted.

Kanter is a very well know Fethullah Gulen follower and is being known with his outspoken views against Erdogan and AKP administration. Kanter, contrary to many others, does not hide his sympathies for Gulen, himself by tweeting pro-Gulen messages via his tweets in English.

Enes Kanter, few months ago, decided to change his last name from Kanter to Gulen (as of Fethullah Gulen). He uses “Gulen” last name in his Turkish Tweeter account, as seen below:

 

 

In the video, Kanter posted in English states his passport being cancelled by Turkey and the reason behind it is his political views.

Turkish government accuses Fethullah Gulen as behind the actor of failed coup last July, and labels the Gulen Group as “FETO”, Fethullahist Terror Org.

Kanter calls Erdogan ”Hitler of our century” in the video he posted.

Romania is a EU country but its relations with Turkey is better than many others. Many of Western countries do not see Turkey’s decision to revoke passport legitimate and process passports.
