District Governor Akgül renamed the public park previously named Bar President Tahir Elçi

District Governor Hacı Asım Akgül, was appointed as trustee to Çatak municipality in Van, has changed the public park name which was named after Bar President Tahir Elçi who was killed in Sur, Diyarbakır on November 28, 2015.

According to report on Dihaber, the park was named first as “Westaniya Parezer Tahir Elçi” by the parliament but now, it’s been changed as “Martyr GK Ali Ogün Park” which is named after rural guard Ali Ogün who was killed in 2016. Trustee Akgül, was also decided to re-paint the barriers around Çatak Stream from rainbow to red and with colors.
