Video Activist and Friends Shared Their Latest Photos from Prison

Video activist Kazim Kizil and six university students who were arrested together shared their photos taken from inside the prison through their families.

Six college students, including video activist Kazım Kızıl, have been in detention for 25 days following their arrest on April 17 for protesting the results of the April 16 referendum.

The students said that it takes about 10-12 days for them to get letters and they asked their fans to send them letters.

Students also asked for books, saying that books are to be accepted by the jail administration from now on. The books must be shipped by registered delivery by the PTT (state postal service).

CHP group vice president Manisa deputy Özgür Özel delivered a musical instrument to Kazım Kızıl on his visit to Menemen Prison two weeks ago. Kazim Kızıl told his family that, he is planning to give the instrument to someone in the prison who knows to play.

The premiere of detained activist Kizil’s documentary film which was about child labor and named as “Where Are You My friend?” was held in the 12th Workers Films Festival, with the theme of “Courage is Contagious.”

All of the students appeared in good spirits and conveyed their greetings to their loved ones.
