About 450 Turkish diplomats, officers, judges and other public officials that were accused of being linked to the Gülen Movement had applied for asylum after the July 15 coup attempt. Germany made its decision and acceptedthe applications.

According to the DW Turkish news cited from Der Spiegel magazine, the number of Turkish civil servants who applied for asylum to Germany has increased. According to information received from the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF), about 450 Turkish diplomats, officers, judges and other public officials and their families had applied for asylum to Germany.
It was stated that the said people accused of being in connection with the Gülen Movement which RTE he held responsible for the July 15 coup attempt.
