Former Prime Minister Davutoğlu participated ‘Yes’ Rally, But did not call for ‘Yes’ vote

Former prime minister Ahmet Davutoğlu, who are named as secret ‘No’ voter like former president Abdullah Gül, attended Erdoğan’s ‘Yes’ rally in his hometown Konya, on the contrary to Gül who did not show up in Kayseri.

‘This nation has always made the right decision’

Davutoğlu emphasized ‘common sense’ in his speech by saying “Nobody expects chaos. We narrow the world to them. Let our unity and togetherness stay forever. April 17 must be the day of common identity and common mind. It must be the day of the big causes.”

“We must be a single heart.” said Davutoğlu. He continued without making a “Yes” or “No” call: “We will march ahead in the future in a clamped way. We are going to a constitutional amendment referendum in such a critical phase. The constitutional amendment will be submitted to the approval of the nation. This nation has always made the right decision. The decision is only the nation’s. Whatever the decision is, we accept it with our most sincere feelings.”

“No one makes a chaos call”

Davutoğlu said that whatever the outcome of the referendum is, everyone should greet each other on April 17. He continued as followings: “Every neighbor tells each other that ‘the future of Turkey will be brilliant’. And when we get up that morning, nobody makes a chaos and crisis call. Thanks to God, there is our President is in the head of the state and he is also in charge until 2019. We have an AK Party group clamped with each other.”
