“Day by day, the rights of the individual are abolished or simply ignored in Turkey. People who claim their fundamental rights are being sued, arrested and sacrificed. We live in this country and we are active in this country where nothing is certain, in which we do not know what will happen in the next hour. We distribute soup for the homeless in the winter, without knowing what awaits us at the next corner. We are overwhelmed by lawsuits against our members, “says Zehra Pala, the chairman of Ateizm Dernegi. The people in Turkey were in fear and they were increasingly afraid to accept the help of the association, fear that their name would be called in a breath with Ateizm Dernegi.
Pala continues: “In this situation getting a prize is a tremendous strengthening, a great source of strength. We thank IBKA for this. “We are not alone!” Was our slogan in the founding of our association. We would never have believed that we would feel this sentence so strongly one day through the solidarity of the IBKA. ”
