The senior adviser of Erdogan Ilnur Cevik, has condemned the arrest of the top executive of Halkbank, Mehmet Hakan Atilla. He wrote in a column in the newspaper Yenibirlik: “ If the American justice system is so efficient why has it still not extradite Fetullah Gulen yet?
Cevik argued that it was disgraceful for the US to jail the top executive of an ally’s Bank and shows how the justice system in the US is in the hands of Gulenists.
Halkbank has traded with Iran within the United Nations Security Council directives and there is nothing wrong with that. Yet, they let a judge who is clearly controlled by Gulenists to take such a decision. The US could’ve just said: “We can’t control our prosecutors, don’t send the president of this bank to the US.
The head of the state department, Rex Tillerson, has nothing other to do than to complain about being brought into this mess”
