DHA
The computer engineer Mustafa Zümre’s corpse, who was dismissed from the 15th Missile Command in Edirne under the investigation of “FETO / PDY” (Gülenist Terrorist Organization/Parallel State Structure), was found in the Meriç (Maritza) River, where he was trying to escape from gendarmerie chase by jumping into the river.

Zümre went to the Umurca village of Edirne’s Meriç district on December 12 to escape to Greece by taking his wife and two children aged 1.5 and 3, along with a friend who were also dismissed from the job over Gulen links.

Zümre did not comply with the gerdarmerie’s “stop” warnings and ran away by jumping into the river, after a while Zümre disappeared.

His wife, who was taken into custody by the gendarmerie, was released on conditions of judicial control.

No trace was found after two weeks of search by AFAD teams (Disaster and Emergency Management Authority). On March 8, servicemen on patrol task, found a male body on the banks of the river in Subaşı.

The body that Zumra’s family identified was confirmed by DNA testing.
