Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said in a televised interview late Wednesday that the Turkish government may cancel the refugee deal with the European Union.
The Netherlands barred Turkey’s Foreign Minister from flying to Rotterdamon Saturday and President Tayyip Erdogan responded by calling Netherlands as well as Germany ‘Nazi remnants’.
Çavuşoğlu continued to inflame tensions between Turkey and the Netherlands on Sunday, he accused Netherland of the “capital of fascism.”
The similar comment made by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Turkish minister over the weekend, in which he accused the Dutch government of behaving like Nazis.
Çavuşoğlu also said that Ankara had already blocked the Dutch ambassador from returning to Turkey. “We have other steps in mind. We’ve already begun planning them. We will certainly take those steps and more.”
