Yalcincayir also added that “they are silent as they are concerned about their and their relatives’ safety. One of the founding members and former Assistant to the Prime Minister, Ertuğrul Yalçınbayır came out with shocking statements regarding the referendum taking place on 16th April.“Both Abdullah Gül and Bülent Arınç do not support the proposed changes in Constitution” said Mr. Yalçınbayır. “One of the probable reasons why they do not speak out about their opinions might be the fact that the party be impacted negatively. However, this does not justify their position. They are silent. They are not speaking up as they are afraid of their families/friends being harmed.”

Yalçınbayır mentioned that AKP does not have any ties to its founding philosophy at all.

“We issued the prohibition law on political propaganda but yet we broke the law ourselves”Touching upon the recent diplomatic crisis between Holland and Turkey, Mr. any ballot box in those countries.“However Yalçınbayır said “Look, voting rights is universal right for every human being and this right is acknowledged by every country. If it was not, we won’t be able to have, we have to remember that it was AKP issuing the law on banning any kind of political propaganda. None of the fact these bans are being exploited as a tool for internal politics and combined with EU-phobia sounds right to me at all…What is being carried out in Turkish embassies/consulates is no different from making political rallies in the public buildings in Turkey. This is not acceptable. You are not allowed to gather any groups and have any kind of propaganda in the consulates even if you are the government yourself.”
