Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu warned CHP leader Kilicdaroglu saying “We’ve had enough of this, discipline your people. Stop their terrorist propaganda.” as a reaction to Sezgin Tanrikulu’s tweet about the events that took place in Korukoy.
The Human Rights Association (IHD) has reported human rights violations in a district of Nusaybin, Korukoy, where operations against the PKK is ongoing.
Tanrıkulu, tagging Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım’s account asked “Are you going to do anything about Abdi Aykut’s situation who was reportedly tortured after being taken into custody?” on Twitter.
Speaking at a meeting in Erzurum, the interior minister first called out to Tanrıkulu: “You are a member of the parliament, not the terrorist organization. Think before you speak and know your place. That 11-year-old boy will not forgive you from here to the hereafter. Do not support the terrorists. Be with the nation. Enough is enough. You are asking what happened to the terrorists. Who do you think you are? We’ve had enough of this. If you are going be in politics, behave. “
Soylu later admonished Kilicdaroglu saying ” Discipline your people. Stop their terrorist propaganda. Don’t let them lay the groundwork for the terrorists. They are exploiting our nation. We are fighting for our independence here. Whose side are you on?”
Saying that President Tayyip Erdogan has a “unifying attitude,” Soylu referred to the co-chair of HDP Demirtas who is under arrest as a “piece of human garbage” and claimed he was trying to provoke the nation.
Arguing that HDP which has 13 arrested parliamentarians was oppressing the electorate said: “Our citizens will decide the results of this referendum. I know what happened in Karayazi on June 7th. Let’s see if they can do the same thing now. Let’s see if they can threaten the nation now.”
