As the leader of MHP Devlet Bahçeli has been advocating for a ‘yes’ vote, many of party branches rebelling against the party headquarters. Consequently, dozens of local branches across Turkey have been terminated by the Headquarters due to their stance by ‘no’ vote.
Deputy Chairman of MHP Şefkat Çetin announced that Buldan and Serinhisar district branches were terminated. Çetin also stated that district managers of these two branches were sent to disciplinary board with the notice of dismissal demand.
Çetin’s written statement is as follows:
Buldan and Serinhisar district branches were terminated in accordance with the article 34 of Party’s bylaw by the chairmanship council based on the authority vested by the articles 52 and 54 of the bylaw. Though disciplinary procedure was commenced for the District Managers Mehmet Tuğrul and Mehmet Averi the final decision will be made after the completion of the investigation and public will be informed afterwards.WHattı
