HDP: Since the coup attempt 5471 members were taken into custody, 1482 were arrested

This is a statement issued by HDP Secretariat:

Going to Referendum without Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) is a Political Immorality

Custodies and arrestments campaign against our party (HDP) members are also going on today. 318 party members including principals, provincial heads and district heads have been taken into custody in cities of Istanbul, Izmir, Van, Adana, Adiyaman, Kocaeli, Antep, Siirt, Bingol, Malatya, Bursa and Agri.

Since first days of 2017, total of 859 party members were taken into custody, and 112 of them were arrested. As of today, 318 additional party members were taken into custody illegaly.

Since July 22, 2015, overall in total, 9796 HDP members were taken into custody and 2906 members were arrested including our co-chairs, MPs, provincial heads, district heads, directors and party members .

According to our information technologies dept., since July 2016, 5471 members were taken into custody and 1482 were arrested.

The only reason of these arrests are to hold referendum without HDP.

They in fact try to block the vote of ‘no’ itself. We wont knuckle under to this pressure and brutality. HDP will continue its fight as it promised to people of Turkey.
We will continue to organize ourself for election to vote ‘no.’
