Nationalist Union Comes Under Attack When The Leader Declares His Vote Will Be ”No” At The Referendum

Mr. Ismail Koncuk, the leader of the Kamu-Sen, a union which has more than 400.000 members, declared that his vote will be ”no” at the presidential referendum, which is expected to be held in early April. Koncuk made a statement on his personal Facebook account about presidental refererendum and he stated “my vote is no”.

Turkey’s Kamu-Sen is the second big union in Turkey and it is known by its strong affiliation with Nationalist MHP. Though in this case, as the Union’s leader Mr. Koncuk made it clear that he will vote “no” at the referendum as opposed to MHP’s leader Bahceli who lobbies for “yes,” this attracted a lot of attention in Turkey.

After Koncuk’s statement, a group of about 25 people tried to attack Turkey Kamu-Sen building in Ankara and demanded Koncuk to be resigned. Luckily, there was no damage of property or loss life.
