Fan Clubs of Three Major Soccer Teams Unite against the “YES” Campaign

Former player and currently TV soccer commentator Ridvan Dilmen started a “YES” campaign for the upcoming constitutional referendum by sharing a video message on Twitter. Soccer players such as Burak Yilmaz and Arda Turan soon followed Ridvan Dilmen by responding them and calling on fans to vote yes for ‘powerful Turkey’.

In light of these, according to Cumhuriyet, Sol Açık, a Fenerbahçe fan club, shared a slogan saying on Twitter: “We are going to vote NO for a free, equal and secular nation” and mentioned Tekyumruk, a Galatasaray fan club if they are up for it. Tekyumruk retweeted Sol Açık’s tweet while mentioning Beleştepe, a Beşiktaş fan club if Besiktas fans would be up for it. Belestepe replied to the mention and openly declared support for the “NO” campaign, backing these two rival fan clubs.

By these, three biggest soccer clubs fans, maybe for the first time, united against YES campaign.
