Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu’s recent response to a parliamentary question which is made by CHP deputy Sezgin Tanrıkulu, according to Hurriyet’s “Ankara greenroom” column, revealed a striking picture of how deeply the Gulen community had penetrated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
After the coup attempt on July 15, Çavuşoğlu announced that they fired 408 people who were related to the Gulen community, from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by three different state of emergency decrees between 16 July – 7 November 2016.
Another explanation of this finding is that, if the charges are true, 3 out of every 10 diplomats in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have been related to the Gulen community.
It means, rate of infiltrating to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs nearly the same with Turkish Armed Forces by people of Gulen’s community.
EMPLOYEE POLICY HAS BEEN CHANGED BY EX-FM DAVUTOGLU
This question should be answered with numerical data not an abstract reason.
When the AK Party became rulers at the end of 2002, a total of 542 professional officers were employed, 163 of which were in foreign representative office.
By 2016, the number of employees in foreign representative office increased to 234 and the total number of professional workers increased to 1202.
That is, the number of diplomats has increased more than twice in 13 years
The most prosperous part of this increase coincided with the turn between 2009 and 2013 when Ahmet Davutoglu’s Foreign Affairs Ministry took over.
The biggest part of this increase has been seen between 2009 and 2013, when Ahmet Davutoglu assumed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
