Turkish Minister of Justice, Bekir Bozda , during an interview with a TV, a pro-government channel, stated that the new constitutional reform package would render conservative segment of the country to a more decisive position which would result a reconciliation culture. Bozdag argued that this reform package, also called as Executive Presidency (whilst a president still being party leader) “was not brought to the agenda for President Tayyip Erdogan himself.”
According to Bozdag, constitutional package is not a matter of Tayyip Erdogan but completely about Turkey. Bozdag claimed that this new system would enable candidates to attract votes from different sections in order reach %51 of threshold to become a president. So no ideology on its own would be able to reach potency but and winning candidates have to take accommodationist discourse. No further marginal and radical discourses would reach to the potency and all would be directed to the more central politics and conservative sections would be more decisive. “There would be no potency chance for sections conflicting with conservatives “
Bozdag continued that there would be no party ever like Justice and Development Party (AKP) which coalesced with the Turkish community at this level and there would be no leader like Erdogan ever again so aim was to bring such a system that would result consistent stability and strong potency and no space for chaos resulting courses.
